This is just a quick post to say congratulations to our raffle ticket winners! The tickets were drawn at the annual Gold Star Banquet in November.

- Ronald D. from Fayetteville, NC won the Battle Cross

Thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle this year and who helped with all of the events (both as volunteers and participants). We could not have made this year so successful without all of you!
News for July!!
First off, I’d like to apologize for being a bit late on posting the news for the North Carolina Honor and Remember chapter. Things have been hectic and I’ve been busy trying to get the website situated, raffle tickets sorted out, etc. The Ride for the Fallen that took place in June was a huge success. We raised over $2000 at the ride and had a huge turnout. I’d like to post another big thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered for the event as well as to all of you who came and participated in the ride. Without all of you, this would not have been possible.
With that being said, Honor and Remember does not have any upcoming events in the near future. We will be at a couple locations passing out information this fall and may have another fundraiser during that time as well. However, we do still have the raffle going on for the memory chest, battle cross and gift basket. Just a reminder, you do NOT need to be local to participate in this raffle. We will work out shipping or pickup/dropoff if you are not available or nearby for the drawing (which will be held in November). Additionally, I have set up a new place for you guys to view our items on Square Market. While we do still have the PayPal invoices if you prefer to pay that way, we felt this site would be better for displaying all of your options. You can also purchase your annual banquet tickets at this site. Please go to http://mkt.com/honor-and-remember-of-nc to check it out. Additionally, I have added a link to it on the navigation menu titled “NC Store.” If you want to go to the National store, you can find it under the “National” drop down menu. Please keep in mind you will ONLY find our raffle tickets and banquet tickets in the NC Store. We are hoping to be able to offer more purchase options on this site in the future. If you have any questions using this website or would prefer to still use the PayPal option, please feel free to email me personally at ronniknepp@gmail.com. Of course you can always email the chapter as well at ncchapter@honorandremember.org.
As I mentioned we do still have the annual chapter banquet coming up in November. You can now purchase those banquet tickets for $35 at the Square site. If you are a Gold Star family and would like to attend, please contact us at ncchapter@honorandremember.org for your discount code. Again, if you’d prefer to use PayPal or write a check, email us for the information. Thank you!
I know this is a slightly longer post, but we’ve had a lot going on! Thank you again to all of our volunteers, board members, and participants in our events. Without all of you we couldn’t keep this chapter going. If you are interested in becoming a board member, please contact us for more information. We are looking for multiple positions to be held. We are asking for a commitment to the end of the year. Of course if you would like to continue with your position next year, that would be greatly appreciated too! Thank you again to everyone!

Updated Ride for the Fallen Flyer
May Updates
Thank you to everyone who participated in the call last week. For those of you who couldn’t make it, we discussed the annual Run for the Fallen in more detail, the upcoming Ride for the Fallen (which had been rescheduled from April to 14 June due to weather) and the annual Gold Star Banquet which will be held 8 November. For anyone interested, you can go to the “Upcoming Events” page to purchase tickets for the Banquet still. Make sure to get them by 1 June! The prices will be increasing from $25 to $35 after the 1st!
We are still working on the updated flyer for the Ride for the Fallen and will hopefully have that posted on the website and our Facebook page within the next week or so. This event will go on RAIN OR SHINE. If you are not a motorcycle rider or even just would rather drive it in a car, you are also welcome to “cage” it (which means drive in a traditional vehicle). Registration fees are the same, no matter how many wheels you drive. Additionally there will be some opportunities for Honor and Remember to set up at other events so keep checking back for those dates (tentatively in August and September as of now). Of course we are always looking for more volunteers to help out with events!
The Run for the Fallen was another success this year and we’d like to give a special thank you to everyone who came out and participated and/or volunteered for the event. We also were able to present a flag at the Run. Pictures are on the “Past Events” page if you are interested.
Also, tickets for the raffle items are still on sale! You can purchase tickets online HERE, in person, or via check in the mail and do NOT need to be present (or local) to win. The raffle will be drawn in November at the Banquet. We will be putting together a schedule of places in North Carolina where the items will be on display if you would like to see them in person as well.
Additionally we are still in need for an assistant director as well as someone who can handle public relations. If you are willing to commit to helping us write up quick articles for newspapers and stations for events, please contact us! Thank you again to everyone for all of your support, we couldn’t do all of this without you!

News for April!!!
Well first and foremost, thank you again to everyone who had volunteered for our annual Ride for the Fallen which was initially scheduled for 19 April. However, due to the weather, we had to cancel the event and reschedule it for 14 June. Please check the site under Upcoming Events for when we post the new flyer and locations. Due to the change, our ending location will have to change. Stay tuned!
Also, we will be posting a list of where you will be able to personally view the raffle ticket items soon. We are also going to be creating a flyer with pictures and descriptions of each item. Please check back or follow us on Facebook for the updated information as we get it. You can purchase tickets via the mail, in person, or even through PayPal. Please go to the Raffle Ticket page for more information.
May 17th will be our 7th Annual Ride for the Fallen at Ayden-Grifton High School in North Carolina. It starts at 9:30AM and will go until approximately 12:00PM. We intend on presenting a flag at this time to a family in honor of their fallen service member. Everyone is welcome to join us!
Last but not least, we are now accepting orders for the annual banquet on November 8th. You can purchase those tickets through the Upcoming Events page as well. We highly encourage you to purchase your tickets early to take advantage of the cheaper price! Thank you again to everyone for your continued support and encouragement.

NC Honor & Remember
News for March!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the monthly meeting last week. We were able to accomplish quite a bit. Remember, we can’t run as an affective chapter without as much community support as possible. If you missed this month’s meeting but would like to call-in or be at the next one, please contact us for information. The annual Ride for the Fallen is coming soon (April 19th to be precise). For more information on this event, to register as a vendor, etc. please go to the Upcoming Events page.
Additionally, we will be adding a second “chapter” to the North Carolina spectrum. These members are located in Charlotte and will be setting up events and presentations in that area for more community convenience. As they are added to the chapter, they will be sharing our website and Facebook page. Please bear with us as we make some minor changes to the website to make room for their information. Thank you again for all of your support and encouragement! Looking forward to seeing some of your smiling faces in April!
Chapter Update Feb 2014
Hey everyone! We have some exciting things to update the North Carolina community with. First off, and probably the most obvious, is that we have our website up and running again! Yay! Please feel free to browse through the site, check out our media page for pictures of our past events, and sign our guest book! We are still working on making updates to the site, so please be patient. Additionally, we have some more events we are preparing for. Our annual Ride for the Fallen is scheduled for April 2014 and the annual banquet is tentatively scheduled for November 2014. As we solidify dates, we will let post them.
We also have a very special raffle coming up. The raffle will be open to anyone (even people not located in North Carolina) and you will not be required to be at the drawing in order to win! Please stand by for more news on this. We’re extremely excited about the items we will be raffling off. Pictures will be posted as soon as we get them, and we plan to kick off the raffle next month (March).
And last, but certainly not least, we are in need of volunteers! We are looking for someone willing to step up as Assistant Director especially. We also need people to fill the roles of Event Coordinator, Military/Veteran Affairs and Public Affairs. We’d also like to add the position of Historian to our board. If you are interested in filling any of these positions, please contact us. If you would like to help out the chapter but cannot commit to a specific role, please also contact us so we can keep you filled in on upcoming events. We always need extra volunteers for events so any and all help is welcome and appreciated.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, members, civilians, and military for your hard work and determination. Without you guys, we wouldn’t be here today.
